Landmark FBO, LLC

Company Overview:

Landmark FBO, LLC (“Landmark”) is a provider of fueling and ground support services to the general and commercial aviation markets through its network of fixed base operations (“FBOs”). Landmark is the 3rd largest network of FBOs in North America with a presence at high volume airports such as Washington Dulles and Los Angeles International. In addition to FBOs, the company provides MRO services, aircraft charter and management, aircraft fueling and information technology support services to the U.S. military through long-term contracts.

Transaction Background:

In 2006, Platform backed a proven management team led by Dan Bucaro, to pursue a “buy & build” strategy in the FBO industry. The Company was called Encore FBO and was led by the core management team of Trajen Holdings, a highly successful FBO industry “buy & build” that was sold to an affiliate of Atlantic Aviation in July 2006. For a year after the sale, Platform funded Encore and worked closely with Dan to build a network of eight locations in the United States and Europe.

In the fall of 2007, Encore participated in the sale process of Landmark Aviation. Given the size of Landmark, we needed a financial partner and quickly formed a partnership with GTCR Golder Rauner, a Chicago based private equity firm with over $8 billion of capital under management, to buy Landmark and merge Encore into the combined company. The entire senior management team from Encore now runs Landmark out of its Houston headquarters.

Landmark is focused on continuing to build its business through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions. We have successfully completed a number of acquisitions since closing the Landmark transaction and are developing de novo locations as well.
