Platform takes its role as a value-added partner to management very seriously.

Fred Lummis, our Chairman, has served as CEO of several private companies, including American Tower Corporation and Advantage Outdoor Company and as interim CEO of Cardtronics, all successful “buy & build” investments in line with Platform’s strategy. This operational experience helps us to understand both the challenges and opportunities that management teams face in building their companies. We do not interfere, but we take an active role in supporting our portfolio companies and executives.

In addition to being active board members, we act as a sounding board for managers and we do our best to help grow the business, while allowing the management to focus on running the day to day operations. Our efforts include sourcing and helping to execute add-on acquisitions, acting as a point of contact with lenders, legal and tax advisors, and, if necessary, helping to recruit complimentary additions to the management team.

We believe our operating experience helps us appreciate the complexities of managing a business. We are, first and foremost, partners with our management teams and take that supportive role very seriously.
